I first met Beth at my local library when she gave a talk on SUGAR. I thoroughly enjoyed her talk and remembered her. When I knew it was time to get serious about dealing with my terrible eating habits I checked out Beth’s website and was intrigued by what I saw and read. I finally decided to get in touch with her and see what she was all about. I was concerned about my weight which just kept going up no matter what I did or didn’t do (at least that is the way it seemed to me) and there is a history of diabetes in my family. I wanted to prevent that from happening to me. I felt tired all the time and it seemed like I never felt rested, no matter how much I slept each night.
Working with Beth has transformed my relationship with food. I want to eat now to nourish my body, not just eat. I sometimes think I can almost feel the goodness going into my body with the choices that I make now. My body feels whole again. I have lost a little weight and still have a way to go in that area. I keep remembering that it took me a long time to get this way and it will take some time to take it off. Most importantly though, I feel so much better both physically and mentally. I have so much more energy than I have had in a very long time. I sleep very well and wake up feeling like I want to get out of bed and start my day.
I actually went on a cruise and didn’t gain any weight. I didn’t deprive myself of food. I just made different choices than I would have in the past. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. It actually didn’t feel hard at all. I ate lots of delicious meals. I ate thoughtfully.
Beth has taught me so much about what I can eat as opposed to what I can’t eat. I feel like a new person and this is just the beginning. I look forward to continuing to work with Beth and reaching new heights in my awareness of my body and spirit.
