1) The Big Slim Down: A Totally Free, Total Fitness Makeover One of my favorite fitness centers in the area is PTS Health and Fitness in Skillman. Their very friendly and highly-skilled staff offers all the services and support of a larger facility, but in a much more intimate and personal setting.  And consistent with their community focus and desire to give something back, PTS is currently offering a free package of services to two lucky applicants interested in taking their health to a new level. Submit a video to P.T.S. by August 31st and tell them why you should be selected for their 3-month transformation opportunity. If you’re chosen to participate in “The Big SlimDown,” you’ll receive 12 weeks of personal training, club membership and nutritional coaching from me, all for free!  Additional services include a massage, facial and salon services from Massage Envy of Montgomery, Beyond the Fringe and Spa Amadora!

If you’ve been imagining a more fit and healthy you, but don’t have it in your budget to finance this kind of support, take advantage of this opportunity to make your dreams come true, and end the year feeling like a new person.

Don’t forget, the deadline is August 31st, so get your video in now.

2) Experience The Power of Caring for Yourself - A Women’s Wellness Group- If you aren’t doing it, no one else will do it for you! This group is for women, whether or not they have been through individual health counseling already, who want to get on and/or stay on track with good habits of self-care, including healthy eating, effective exercise, developing and maintaining strong relationships and positive self-expression.

Once each week, for a total of eight weeks, we’ll meet for ninety minutes to discuss an aspect of our diet, including:

  • identifying and preparing healthy foods
  • eating well on a budget
  • meal planning & time-saving tips
  • weight-management
  • emotional eating
  • mindful eating

As well as a topic that relates to another area of self-care, including:

  • affirmations
  • breathing practices
  • meditation/mindfulness
  • relationship/communication skills
  • exercise options
  • making ourselves a priority

Handouts, including articles, recipes and various exercises to use in your at-home practice are provided at each session, and e-mail communication between group-members is encouraged between sessions. Participants will learn as much from each other as the formal agenda. Join us and find out for yourself how wonderful it feels to be working side-by-side with like-minded women on the journey to greater wellness!

This group is currently planned for Wednesdays, starting September 15, 2010 and costs $200 for 8 weeks. Please contact me for more information, and to register.
